SHOW DATES – SEPTEMBER 19 – 21, 2024
become a show volunteer
Volunteers are the life blood of QuiltFest. Without them, the show wouldn’t happen. More than 750 time slots are filled by members of the Sister guilds to keep everything running during the three show days, during judging and set up days, and takedown and cleanup time after the show closes. Active and on-your-feet jobs available include pre-show judging sessions, hanging and taking down quilts, and white glove/quilt handlers during the show. Sit-down jobs include staffing Quilter’s Walk and volunteer check-in.
Volunteer registration is online at Sign Up Genius SIGNUP.This easily navigable system allows each volunteer to sign up for the any open slots and receive reminder emails closer to show dates. Each guild will also have a QuiltFest board representative at guild meetings to assist with on-the-spot volunteer sign ups.
Sell Quilts at the Quilt Sale Table
Members of the Sister guilds may sell quilts at the Quilt Sale Booth. Completed quilts, quilt tops, quilt blocks and miscellaneous UFOs are accepted. Quilters price and tag their own merchandise according to instructions provided. A numbered inventory form, also provided, must be completed for all items. There is a limit to how many items each quilter may submit for selling. QuiltFest, Inc. retains a percentage of all sales to help defray costs. Forms with more information are available from guild QuiltFest representatives or contact the Quilt Sale Table Chair here.
Contribute to Quilter's Walk
The dozens of baskets found at the Quilter’s Walk are filled with goodies donated by the Sister guilds, their individual members and show vendors. Any guild member is welcome to contribute items for a basket, or even a completely filled one. The Quilter’s Walk Committee can provide baskets if requested. Filled baskets are wrapped in clear plastic prior to being placed on display for bidding. Any show attendee can bid on items at the Quilter’s Walk. Proceeds are distributed to the Sister guilds to support continuing quilting education and guild activities. Everyone who donates merchandise by the deadline will have their name listed in the program as a Quilter’s Walk sponsor. Contact the Ways and Means Chair here for information on donating basket items.
Contribute to the Silent Auction
All guild members and other interested parties are welcome to donate small quilts to the Silent Auction, which benefits the FSCJ Vision Education & Rehabilitation Center. This center gives blind and vision impaired the life skills for independent living. Quilts must be no larger than 24” by 24”, and no smaller than 8” by 8”. They must be made of three layers to include a top, batting and backing. Quilts should be quilted, bound, and finished completely before donation. Designated guild reps will collect quilts at their meetings. Deadline to turn in quilts is the last QuiltFest Board meeting before the show. For more information, contact the Silent Auction Chair here
