Each year over 400 quilts from all over the United States are entered, judged, and displayed for the public to view. Quilts are on display during the three days of the show. Cash prizes for winning quilts total more than $8,000.
In addition to looking at beautiful quilts, visitors can shop for quilting supplies at 70+ vendor booths or buy a ready-made quilt at the Quilt Sale Table. Demonstrations on quilting techniques are held throughout the day. Visitors can purchase tickets for a chance to take home one of seven exquisite quilts or a basket full of quilting goodies. They can also bid on a miniature quilt at the Silent Auction. A Food Court with several stations is open throughout the day.
For those who would like to sit and sew for a while, there are charity projects to sew and Me Dolls to stuff.
Quilting skills span the generations at the show, reaching from adults to the younger set with the Kid’s Corner and Young Quiltmakers. Kid’s Corner offers the youngest attendees the opportunity to make a quilt block. Young Quiltmakers is a special category for youth aged through high school seniors to enter their quilts in the show..

Our Guild volunteers are an essential part of the QuiltFest organization and QuiltFest appreciates the time they donate to assist with the annual quilt show. More than 750 time slots are filled by the Seven Sister guild members to help with judging, show setup and takedown, and work throughout the three days of the show. We couldn’t do it without them!
We are working on bringing in special exhibits that could include a national traveling trunk show or two, displays from local chapters of groups such as SAQA and the Modern Quilt Guild, and local renowned quilters. Join us in the demonstration area for presentations from our vendors throughout each day of the show. Sometimes they are showing new products; sometimes it’s new techniques. Check back here closer to the show for a schedule of events. The list will also be published in the show program, which you can pick up at the show entrance.
In an ongoing effort to provide an educational aspect to the quilt show, QuiltFest provides space for a certified quilt appraiser to examine and determine value of quilts brought by show attendees. Even if they don’t have a quilt to be appraised, attendees are welcome to stop by her space and see what others are bringing in.
Brenda Grampsas will be available at the show to appraise both new and old quilts. She is an American Quilter’s Society, Paducah, KY, Certified Appraiser of quilts and quilted textiles, certified in 2005. This certification was obtained following several years of study, mentoring by a certified appraiser, and passing a rigorous testing process which included written and verbal exams. She is a member of the Professional Association of Appraisers Quilted Textiles.
Brenda is a member of American Quilter’s Society and is an active member of her local quilt guild Hidden Stitches, in Largo, Florida.
